The Associate Press interviewed Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, about his reputation as a “franchise savior.” After breathing new life into film franchises like Fast & Furious, G.I. Joe and The Mummy, studio officials said they see Johnson as a sure way to attract movie goers.
Just for fun – the interviewer tossed other franchises at Johnson, asking him (tongue-in-cheek) how he’d rejuvenate or reboot the films. Along with franchises like James Bond, Twilight and Shrek – Johnson joked about what role he’d play in a Star Wars movie.
“That could happen. I only say that because my love for the mythology of Star Wars… Boba Fett could work. But it can’t be the Boba Fett as we know. We can’t hide my magic (gestures to his face). This is magic, my friend (laughs). There’s got to be a cross between a Sith and a Jedi. What is that? Don’t know what that is yet. We’ve got to create it.”
Of course, Johnson is only having fun – not being serious. But, it’s cool hearing that he’s not only a Star Wars fan – but a member of #TeamBoba.
