My wife and I opened our stocking stuffers this morning and I was ecstatic to find she got me the coolest memory drive I’ve ever seen – the Boba Fett flash drive released by MIMOCO.
When MIMOCO released its line of Star Wars flash drives, it did not take long for the Boba Fett USB device to sell out. In response to its popularity, the company released a new version of the Boba Fett MIMOBOT in its Series 7 collection.
This version of Boba Fett was inspired by his appearance in Return of the Jedi. Boba Fett is designed to look older and more battle worn. The detail in the paint job is remarkable, and when plugged into the computer, the thruster on Boba Fett’s jet pack lights up red.
In previous collections, the character’s head would simply pop off to expose the USB that connects to the computer – however, in Series 7, when the head is removed, a face of helmet wearing characters is revealed. In a brilliant touch of detail, Boba Fett’s Mandalorian helmet is removed to show his scarred face underneath.
These MIMOBOTs carry various storage capacities, ranging from 8GB to 64GB flash drives. The retail price ranges from $19.99 on the lower end, to $69.99 for the higher end memory capabilities. Standing 2.5 inches tall by 1-inch wide, the flash drive also has a one year limited warranty, and is Hi-speed.
As an added bonus, the flash drive comes pre-loaded with digital extras, including a number of Star Wars screen savers, avatars, desktop icons and wallpapers.
Companion accessories for these flash drives are Protohoodie Keychains. Made of soft fabric, and featuring a clear protective plastic window, this item protects your MIMOBOT flash drive, while keeping it accessible.
Marketed as “spacesuits” for your MIMOBOT, you can grab one of these for under $6 and they come in a variety of designs and colors.
MIMOCO also released the following product trailer, featuring some of our favorite characters, illustrated as MIMOBOTs, in Jabba’s Palace in Return of the Jedi.
